PLAMCOR®-5
PLAMCOR®-5
Intumescent fireproof composition
- Color: Grey
- Packing: Double-packed
Recommended use
Protection of metal structures operated in an open industrial atmosphere from hydrocarbon fire. Provides a fire resistance limit of up to 120 minutes. It is used as a flame retardant layer in complex systems of protective coatings with anticorrosive primers.
MAIN AREAS OF APPLICATION
Oil and gas complex, industrial construction.
FLAME RETARDANT EFFICIENCY
The fire-resistant effectiveness of the coating under conditions of hydrocarbon combustion, with a reduced metal thickness of 5.8 mm and a coating thickness of 14.6 mm, is 132 minutes.

EXPENDITURE
The theoretical consumption for a single-layer coating with a thickness of 1000 microns is 1.3 kg/m2.
SURFACE PREPARATION
The metal surface must first be primed with a primer in one or two layers with a total thickness of 40 to 80 microns.
The primer coating should be cleaned of contaminants, degreased, free from dust and moisture, and should not have defects such as peeling, cracking, and metal corrosion. All areas of damage of primer coating should be repaired.
The waiting time for the primer coating (at a temperature of (20±2)°C) after its application before applying the PLAMCOR-5 composition should be at least 1 day.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
DESIGNED FOR PROFESSIONAL USE!
Preparation of the composition:
- mix thoroughly until homogeneous using mixer;
-while constantly stirring, add the hardener completely to the base (the base-to-hardener ratio by weight is 3.5:1). After mixing, the composition is ready for use. The prepared composition should be used within 1 hour (at an ambient temperature of (20±2)°C), and the time is reduced with increasing temperature.
- if necessary, dilute to the working viscosity with a thinner immediately before application.
The conditions for applying the composition are at a temperature from minus 5 to plus 40 ° C and a relative humidity of no more than 80%.
The composition should be applied by airless spraying or with a spatula in 1-5 layers, depending on the required fire protection effectiveness of the coating and the specified metal thickness.

Natural atmospheric drying. Drying time depends on the temperature, and as the temperature increases, the drying time decreases.
Each subsequent layer of the composition should be applied no earlier than 4 hours (at a temperature of (20±2)°C) after applying the previous layer; it is also permissible to apply subsequent layers to the sticky coating. At low temperatures, the time of interlayer drying of coatings should be increased.
The coating should be additionally reinforced with a reinforcing mesh, which is a composite made of carbon fiber.
The complete drying time of the PLAMCOR-5 coating at a temperature of (20±2) °C is not less than 7 days (it depends on the temperature, and higher temperatures will reduce the drying time).
If necessary, a topcoat enamel can be applied to the fire protection coating in one or two layers with a total thickness ranging from 50 to 80 µm. The minimum waiting time for the PLAMCOR-5 coating before applying topcoat enamels should be at least 24 hours, and the maximum waiting time should not exceed one month.
Fire protection coating damaged during operation should be restored. The damaged coating should be removed, and the coating should be restored to the required thickness.
Storage and handling
The composition PLAMCOR-5 is supplied as a complete set, including the base and hardener, packaged in metal buckets. Additionally, it is equipped with reinforcing mesh.
Storage conditions are in accordance with GOST 9980.5 (at an ambient temperature ranging from minus 40 to plus 40°C, away from heat sources). During storage, the container should not be exposed to precipitation and direct sunlight.
Warranty storage period in air-tight original manufacturer’s containers is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
PRECAUTIONS
When working with the enamel one shall observe the existing sectoral standard norms and requirements and safety measures as specified on the package label.
Personal protective equipment (goggles, face masks and respirators) shall be used, inhalation of thinners and contact of the composition or its components with skin, ocular mucosa, respiratory channels shall be avoided; use inside the premises is allowed only in case sufficient ventilation is provided.
The composition refers to fire-hazardous materials
COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER MATERIALS
It is used in complex coating systems for ZINEP primers (TU 2312-022-12288779-2000), ISOLEP-primer (TU 2312-067-12288779-2008) and ZFES (TU 2312-004-12288779-99).
If necessary, polyurethane and epoxy-vinyl enamels can be used as the topcoat layer.
The use of other primers and enamels with the fire protection composition PLAMCOR-5 must be coordinated with the manufacturer of the fire protection material.
