DESCRIPTION
ZINOTAN is compatible with many materials produced by VMP Holding. Complex coating systems based on zinc-filled primer have extended service life and are resistant to highly corrosive environments, which has led to their widespread use in various industrial sectors.
One of the most durable and reliable is a complex coating based on polyurethane materials such as ZINOTAN+POLYTON-UR+POLYTON-UR (UV).

CONSUMPTION PER M2
The theoretical consumption for a coating with a thickness of 80 microns is 370 g/m2.
SURFACE PREPARATION
degrease metal surface to the first degree according to GOST 9.402;
perform abrasive blasting of the surface to degree 2 according to GOST 9.402 (Sa 2 1/2 or Sa 2 according to ISO 8501-1) with roughening, the recommended surface profile Rz = 30-50 microns. For hot-rolled steel, mechanized and manual cleaning is allowed up to grade 3 according to GOST 9.402 (St 3 or St 2 according to ISO 8501-1).
Application on a smooth surface without roughening is not allowed;
remove dust.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
mix thoroughly before application until smooth;
if necessary, dilute to the working viscosity immediately before use.
The composition is recommended to be applied in 1-2 layers by airless, pneumatic (air) spraying, roller, brush in a factory, construction site at temperatures from minus 15 to plus 40 ° C and relative humidity from 30% to 98%.
Airless spraying
Recommended diluent SOLV-UR (TU 2319-032-1228779-2002), petroleum solvent
Amount of diluent up to 5% by mass
Nozzle diameter 0.015" - 0.021" (0.38 - 0.53 mm)
Pressure 15 - 25 MPa (150 - 250 bar)
Air spraying
Recommended diluent SOLV-UR, petroleum solvent
Amount of diluent up to 5% by mass
Nozzle diameter 1.8 - 2.2 mm
Pressure 0.3 - 0.4 MPa (3 - 4 bar)
Brush / Roller
Recommended diluent SOLV-UR, petroleum solvent
Amount of diluent up to 5% by mass
Equipment cleaning
Equipment cleaning
solvents SOLV-UR, petroleum solvent, P-4, 647.
When applying multi-layer coatings, each subsequent layer should be applied no earlier than after the previous layer has dried up "to touch dry" (slight touch on the coating does not leave a trace and does not give a feeling of stickiness). Prolonged contact of the composition in an open container with air should be avoided.
The minimum overlapping interval of the ZINOTAN coating by FERROTAN, ALUMOTAN, POLYTON-UR top coats at (20±2)°С and relative air humidity (65±5)% is not less than 4 hours; maximum – no more than 2 years (with a coating thickness of 80 microns).
Drying of coating is natural. When the humidity of the air decreases, the drying time of the coating increases. If the relative air humidity is less than 30 %, in order to shorten the drying time (by 2-4 times), it is recommended to use a drying agent composition for polyurethane paint materials (TU 2359- 047-12288779-2005) in agreeing with representatives of VMP.
In the process of work, in order to maintain the viability, it is recommended to reduce the time of its contact in the container with air (close the container during breaks in work); at the end of the work, pour a thin layer of SOLV-UR on the material remaining in the bucket. It is recommended to use ZINOTAN during one working shift.
The exposure time of the coating before the start of operation in aggressive environments is 7 days.
STORAGE OF ANTICORROSIVE COMPOSITION
ZINOTAN is supplied in 10, 3 and 0.5 litre metal containers.
Storage and transportation of the composition – in accordance with GOST 9980.5 (at temperatures from minus 40 to plus 40 ° C). The container with composition shall be protected from atmospheric condensation and direct sunlight.
The shelf life of the composition in a hermetically sealed container is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
SECURITY MEASURES
When working with the composition, the relevant industry standards and requirements should be observed, as well as the precautions indicated on the packaging label.
It is necessary to use personal protective equipment (glasses, masks, respirators), avoid inhaling solvents during evaporation and getting the composition on the skin, mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory tract; use indoors only with sufficient ventilation.
The composition refers to fire-hazardous materials.
COMPATIBILITY OF THE COMPOSITION OF ZINOTAN WITH OTHER VMP MATERIALS
ZINOTAN is compatible with compositions of ALUMOTAN, FERROTANE, POLYTON-UR enamel, as well as with other materials on epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic and vinyl bases.
