Recommended use

The composition of ZINOL-SV is used for corrosion protection of metal structures operated in atmospheric conditions, as well as for painting structures for contact welding. The composition of ZINOL-SV is used as an independent coating, a primer for coating materials in complex protection systems or for the repair of zinc metal coatings.

DESCRIPTION

ZINOL-SV was developed as a specialized material for corrosion protection of railway rolling stock. ZINOL-SV is designed for painting metal structures for contact welding. ZINOL-SV has all the advantages of zinc-filled coatings, at the same time, when welding on a single-layer coating, it does not affect the quality of the weld.

Zinc content in the coating provides cathodic protection of the steel. This protection mechanism allows to prevent the occurrence and development of corrosion processes for a long time.

If additional protection of structures from atmospheric precipitation and aggressive environments is required, an additional layer of ALPOL composition is applied over ZINOL-SV.

The theoretical consumption for a single-layer coating is 235 - 350 g/m2.

 

SURFACE PREPARATION

degrease metal surface to 1 degree according to GOST 9.402;

perform abrasive blasting of the surface to degree 2 according to GOST 9.402 (Sa 2 1/2 or Sa 2 according to ISO 8501-1) with roughening, the recommended surface profile Rz is not more than 50 microns.

Mechanized and manual surface cleaning to 3 degree according to GOST 9.402 (Sa 3 or St 2 according to ISO 8501-1) is allowed;

remove dust.

Preparation of the coating of ZINOL-SV before applying the coating enamels should be done as follows:

 

degrease (if necessary) with aqueous solutions of detergents (pH of solutions should be in the range of 6 to 8), slight degreasing (without grinding) using white spirit is allowed;

remove moisture and dust.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

mix the composition thoroughly before use until smooth;

if necessary, dilute to working viscosity immediately before application;

the composition should be applied at an air temperature from minus 25 to plus 40 ° C and a relative humidity of up to 85%.

Drying of coating is natural.

 

When applying multi-layer coatings, each subsequent layer should be applied after the previous one has dried to "tack free" (light pressure on the coating with a finger leaves no trace and does not give a sticky sensation).

 

The minimum coating time for coating before application of the ALPOL composition is 2 hours, up to other coating materials - 24 hours; the maximum time is not limited.

STORAGE OF ANTICORROSIVE COMPOSITION

Composition is packed in metal buckets or metal cans.

 

Storage and transportation of the composition – in accordance with GOST 9980.5 (at ambient temperature from minus 40 to plus 40 ° C). The container with composition shall be protected from atmospheric condensation and direct sunlight; a short-term storage under direct sunlight, not more than 3 hours, is allowed.

 

The shelf life of the composition in a hermetically sealed container is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

 

SECURITY MEASURES

When working with the composition, the relevant industry standards and requirements should be observed, as well as the precautions indicated on the packaging label.

 

It is necessary to use personal protective equipment (glasses, masks, respirators), avoid inhaling solvents during evaporation and getting the composition on the skin, mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory tract; use indoors only with sufficient ventilation.

 

The composition refers to fire-hazardous materials.

 

COMPATIBILITY OF THE COMPOSITION OF ZINOL-SV WITH OTHER VMP MATERIALS

It is recommended to use ALPOL, vinyl-epoxy, alkyd and other enamels as a coating material in coating systems based on the composition of ZINOL-SV.
