Recommended use

ZINOL composition is designed to protect against corrosion of metal structures in the atmosphere. The coating is resistant to sea and fresh water, aqueous solutions of salts (pH = 6.0-9.0). The coating is not resistant to gasoline and a number of organic solvents.

 

   ZINOL is used as a primer under coating materials in complex protection systems, independent coating or repair composition of zinc metal coatings.

DESCRIPTION

ZINOL composition is a widely known and in-demand material in the market of anticorrosive protection. Due to its high performance, versatility and ease of use, ZINOL has gained the trust of not only Russian, but also foreign companies operating in a wide variety of industries.

 

ZINOL is a unique material. The optimal combination of zinc powder and polymer binder makes the mechanism of corrosion protection of steel similar to hot-dip galvanizing. Therefore, a coating based on a ZINOL primer is an alternative to hot-dip galvanizing. ZINOL is also used for repairing zinc coatings

CONSUMPTION PER M2

The theoretical consumption for a single-layer dry coating is 235 - 350 g/m2.

 

SURFACE PREPARATION

degrease metal surface to the first degree according to GOST 9.402;

perform abrasive blasting of the surface to degree 2 according to GOST 9.402 (Sa 2 1/2 or Sa 2 according to ISO 8501-1) with roughening, the recommended surface profile Rz = 30-50 microns. For hot-rolled steel, mechanized and manual surface cleaning is allowed up to degree 3 according to GOST 9.402 (St 3 or St 2 according to ISO 8501-1). Application on a smooth surface without roughening is not allowed;

remove dust.

Preparation of the ZINOL coating before applying coating enamels should be carried out as follows:

degrease (if necessary) with aqueous solutions of detergents (pH of solutions should be in the range of 6 to 8), slight degreasing (without grinding) using white spirit is allowed;

remove moisture and dust.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

mix thoroughly before application until smooth;

if necessary, dilute to working viscosity immediately before application;

Apply at temperature from minus 25 to plus 40 ° C and relative humidity

of up to 85%

 

When applying multi-layer coatings, each subsequent layer should be applied after the previous  one has dried to "tack free" (light pressure on the coating with a finger leaves no trace and does not give a sticky sensation).

 

The minimum coating time for coating before application of the ALPOL composition is 2 hours, up to other coating materials - 24 hours; the maximum time is not limited.

 

Drying is natural. The time of complete curing of the coating and exposure before the start of operation in aggressive, including liquid environments is at least 7 days (at a temperature of (20 ± 2 ° C)), before the start of packaging and transportation of structures – 24 hours.

STORAGE OF ANTICORROSIVE COMPOSITION

ZINOL is packed in metal buckets, metal cans or aerosol cans.

 

Storage and transportation of the composition – in accordance with GOST 9980.5 (at ambient temperature from minus 40 to plus 40 ° C). The container with composition shall be protected from atmospheric condensation and direct sunlight; a short-term storage under direct sunlight, not more than 3 hours, is allowed. The composition in an aerosol package should be protected from direct sunlight and heating above 50 ° C.

 

In case of storage at negative temperatures, the composition must be kept in a warm room for a day before use.

 

The shelf life of the composition in a hermetically sealed container is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

 

SECURITY MEASURES

When working with the composition, the relevant industry standards and requirements should be observed, as well as the precautions indicated on the packaging label.

 

Personal protective equipment (glasses, face masks and respirators) shall be used, inhalation of thinners and contact of the composition or its components with skin, ocular mucosa, respiratory channels shall be avoided; use inside the premises is allowed only in case sufficient ventilation is provided.

 

The composition refers to flammable materials, the coating of ZINOL is fireproof and refers to materials that do not spread flames over the surface.

 

The coating is non-toxic and can be used inside office and residential premises.

 

COMPATIBILITY OF THE COMPOSITION OF CYNOL WITH OTHER VMP MATERIALS

It is recommended to use ZINOL composition in coating systems with aluminum-filled ALPOL composition.
