Surface preparation
Steel surface:
- degrease metal surface to 1 grade according to GOST 9.402;
- minimum: power or hand tool cleaning of rust to 3 or 4 grade according to GOST 9.402 (St 2 according to ISO 8501-1);
- recommended: abrasive blast cleaning from scale, rust and traces of old paint to 2 grade according to GOST 9.402 (Sa 2½ according to ISO 8501-1);
- remove dust.
- degrease metal surface to 1 grade according to GOST 9.402;
- the surface should have a roughness (if necessary, use polishing paper or a non-metallic abrasive);
- remove dust.
- degrease the metal surface to 1 grade according to GOST 9.402;
- power or hand tool cleaning using polishing paper or non-metallic abrasive to create a rough surface;
- remove dust.
Application
- mix base thoroughly to homogenous condition before application;
- with constant stirring, add a hardener to the base and mix thoroughly.
- if necessary, the composition should be diluted to the working viscosity;
- holding time of the prepared material before application is 15-20 minutes, covered with a lid.
The primer-enamel is recommended to be applied in 1-2 layers using airless, conventional (air) spray by brush/roller.
Storage and handling
The material is delivered in packages: base and hardener packed in metal buckets and metal cans respectively depending on the set weight.
Storage conditions of primer-enamel components – according to GOST 9980.5 (at temperature from minus 40 to plus 40 °C). The container shall be protected from atmospheric condensation and direct sunlight.
The shelf life is determined by warranty storage of the base (24 months) and hardener (12 months) starting with the manufacture date.
