Recommended use

The double-packed ethyl silicate zinc-containing interoperative primer ZVES®-SP is applied directly to metal, providing anticorrosion protection for the surfaces of steel blanks, parts, and assemblies during storage in all macroclimatic zones, types of atmospheres, and placement categories according to GOST 15150 or for all corrosion activity categories in accordance with ISO 12944-2.

Specifications

Provides corrosion protection for structures for a period of up to 1 year in an open industrial atmosphere during the storage period between manufacturing and assembly operations.

It can be used on an automatic painting line.

It can be overlapped with paint and varnish materials of different nature: epoxy, polyurethane, vinyl, chlorinated rubber, acrylic after secondary surface preparation.

AREAS OF APPLICATION

ZVES-SP is applied directly to the metal, in an open industrial atmosphere for the storage period between manufacturing and installation operations. It can be used on an automatic painting line.

CERTIFICATION

Approved by the testing center of RPA LKP LLC, Khotkovo.

DESCRIPTION

RECOMMENDED CONDITION OF THE PAINTED SURFACE

degrease metal surface to the first degree according to GOST 9.402;

perform abrasive blasting of scale, rust or traces of old paint to the degree of 2 according to GOST 9.402 or Sa 2 1/2 or Sa 3 according to ISO 8501-1; the surface profile is sharp, angular with a roughness of 25-60 microns (segment from 1 to 2 comparator G according to ISO 8503-1)

remove dust.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

mix component A of the primer to a homogeneous state before use;

with constant stirring, add component A to component B in the ratio indicated on the label, mix thoroughly; if necessary, dilute to working viscosity.

The ratio of component A to component B is 2:1 by volume and 1.15:1 by mass, respectively.

During the application process, constant recirculation of the primer through the feed system is required. During extended breaks in work, it is recommended to dispose of previously mixed primer and use a freshly prepared mixture.

Recommended painting system: ZVES-SP 1 layer, 15-25 microns (dry film thickness measured on the smooth surface of the test panel)

The pot life of the primer (after mixing the components) at ambient temperature (20 ± 0.5) °C is at least 24 hours (when organizing painting work, a decrease in pot life should be taken into account with an increase in temperature).

It is recommended to apply the primer in one layer by automatic spraying, pneumatic and airless spraying, brush, roller at ambient temperature from 0 to plus 40 ° C and relative humidity up to 85%. The curing of the coating is slowed down when the relative humidity of the air is less than 50%.

ISOLEP-eps is recommended to be applied in plant conditions at temperature from plus 5 to plus 40 °C and relative air humidity not exceeding 85 %. When painting at low temperatures, primer temperature should be at least 15 ° C.

Recommended painting system: ZVES-SP 1 layer, 15-25 microns (dry film thickness measured on the smooth surface of the test panel).

It is recommended to apply the primer without dilution. If needed, the primer can be thinned to the desired consistency with SOLV-ES.

The specified curing time is recommended to be taken as an indicative for practical painting. The curing time depends on the surface temperature and ambient air and relative humidity. The maximum overlap interval is not limited.

When applying the subsequent coating system, the surface of the primer should be degreased to the first degree according to GOST 9.402 if necessary. In the presence of corrosion traces and other defects, local cleaning should be performed up to degree P Sa 2½ according to ISO 8501-1. It is allowed to apply thorough local cleaning by manual and mechanical tools up to the degree of P St 2 in hard-to-reach places (ISO 8501-2). Remove dust.

STORAGE OF ANTICORROSIVE COMPOSITION

The primer is supplied as a complete set: Component A, packed in metal buckets with a capacity of 20 liters, and Component B, packed in cans with a capacity of 15 liters.

Storage conditions – in accordance with GOST 9980.5 (at ambient temperature from minus 40 to plus 30 ° C). When storing containers with primer components, they should not be near heat sources, exposed to precipitation and direct sunlight.

The shelf life of component A is 12 months, component B is 6 months from the date of manufacture.

SECURITY MEASURES

When working, comply with the relevant industry standards and requirements, as well as the precautions indicated on the container label.

Use personal protective equipment (glasses, masks, respirators), avoid inhalation of solvents during evaporation and contact of the material or its components with the skin, mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory tract; use indoors only if sufficient ventilation is provided.

The material and its components (Component A and Component B) are fire-hazardous!
