DESCRIPTION
Acrylic polyurethane enamel POLYTON-UR (UV) is a UV–resistant protective and decorative enamel, which is widely used in complex coating systems of VMP. The main purpose of enamel is to protect metal structures operated in an open atmosphere, including industrial.
Compatibility with most primers manufactured by VMP and high performance characteristics make this material versatile. POLYTON-UR (UV) creates an additional protective barrier against the effects of precipitation and industrial pollution. UV resistance allows you to preserve the color and appearance of the coating for a long time.
Enamel is made of two grades:
- Grade A - general purpose;
- Grade B with biocide, exhibiting fungal resistance in compliance with GOST 9.050-75.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
- before using the enamel base, mix thoroughly until smooth;
- While mixing constantly add hardener, mix thoroughly for 2-3 minutes, if required use thinner to reach working consistency.
For POLYTON-UR (UV) semi-gloss, the ratio of the base and hardener by weight is 9:1, by volume is 7:1, respectively (except for RAL 9006, for which the ratio by weight is 7.8:1, by volume is 7.5:1). The mass ratio is indicated on the label of the container and in the quality certificate.

Enamel is allowed to be applied at a temperature of minus 10 to plus 40 ° C and a relative humidity of no more than 85%. The recommended temperature range for application – from plus 5 °C to plus 30 °C. Surface temperature on application and drying shall be as minimum 3°C higher than the dew point, however, not more than 40 °C. POLYTON-UR (UV) prepared for application shall have the temperature of plus 15 °C.
When painting is carried out at temperatures below 0 °C the surface shall be free from snow, ice and white frost. Within the first 24 hours after application of the enamel one shall avoid exposure of the coating to precipitation.
It is recommended to apply the enamel by airless, pneumatic (air) spraying, brush / roller on a clean, dry surface.

* The minimum and maximum overlap time depends on the relative air humidity and air temperature, the dependence of the drying time on the environmental parameters is given in the technological instructions.
**Reduction of time is allowed only on agreement with the manufacturer when the required measures are taken to ensure drying of the underlying layer.
*** When the maximum interval is exceeded and/or when storing constructions under sunlight additional measures to ensure adhesion of the subsequent layers may be required – using POLYTON-UR (UV).
In more detail (with details of temperature and relative air humidity) the recommended time intervals are given in the technological instructions.
Failure to comply with the recommendations of overlapping intervals may lead to the appearance of coating defects and decline of the interlayer adhesion.
If the maximum overlap time is exceeded, additional surface preparation operations are required in order to ensure adhesion with the underlying coating layers.
The drying of the coating is natural, the drying time depending on the temperature is given in the table:

*The specified curing time is recommended to be taken as a guideline for the technological process. In fact, the curing time depends on the temperature of the surface and ambient air, the degree of dilution of the material, the thickness of the coating, the efficiency of ventilation, the relative humidity of the air, the design features of the structures and may differ from the indicated. |
Each subsequent layer of POLYTON-UR (UV) enamel at a temperature of plus 20 ° C should be applied no earlier than 6 hours, at minus 10 ° C – no earlier than 48 hours.
The exposure time of the coating at a temperature of plus 20 ° C before operation in aggressive environments is at least 7 days, at a temperature of minus 10 ° C – at least 30 days.
STORAGE OF ANTICORROSIVE ENAMEL
POLYTON-UR (UV) enamel is supplied as a complete set in two packages: the base –in metal buckets with a capacity of 20 liters and the hardener – in metal buckets with a capacity of 3 liters.
Storage and transportation of the enamel base and hardener in hermetically sealed containers of the manufacturer in accordance with GOST 9980.5 and at ambient temperature from minus 40 to plus 40 ° C.
The enamel components should be stored away from heat sources - the container should not be exposed to precipitation and direct sunlight; short-term storage in direct sunlight is allowed, but not more than 3 hours.
The shelf life of the enamel base and hardener is 24 months from the date of manufacture.
SECURITY MEASURES
When working with the enamel one shall observe the existing sectoral standard norms and requirements and safety measures as specified on the package label.
It is necessary to use personal protective equipment (glasses, masks, respirators), avoid inhaling solvents during evaporation and getting the composition on the skin, mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory tract; use indoors only with sufficient ventilation.
Enamel is classified as fire-hazardous materials.
COMPATIBILITY OF POLYTON-UR (UV) ENAMEL WITH OTHER VMP MATERIALS
It is used as a finishing protective and decorative layer in complex systems for coatings such as POLYTON-UR, FERROTAN, ISOLEP-mastic, ISOLEP-primer and ISOLEP-mio and others on epoxy and polyurethane bases.
