Recommended use
FERROTANE composition is used for corrosion protection of metal, concrete and reinforced concrete structures in the atmosphere. The coating is stable in aqueous solutions of acids, salts and alkalis, in sea and fresh water, in oil and petroleum products. FERROTAN is used as an intermediate or finishing (in the absence of intense UV radiation) layers in coating systems with zinc-filled compositions, as well as an independent coating.

DESCRIPTION
Polyurethane composition FERROTAN is designed for use in aggressive environments. The anticorrosive pigment contained in the composition ("iron" mica) slows down corrosion processes and acts as a barrier preventing the interaction of chemical media with the metal surface. Even in difficult operating conditions, the coating is characterized by a long service life, wear resistance and durability.
The structures can be painted in a wide temperature range (from -15 ° C to + 40 ° C), as well as at high humidity (up to 98%).

RECOMMENDED CONDITION OF THE PAINTED SURFACE
Primer coating must be degreased, cleaned of dirt and dust-free.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
mix thoroughly to homogenous condition before application;
if necessary, dilute to working viscosity.
Apply in factory and field conditions at temperatures from minus 15 °C to plus 40 °C and relative air humidity from 30 to 98 %.
In factory conditions with relative humidity less than 30 % in order to shorten the drying time (by 2-4 times), it is recommended to use a drying agent composition for polyurethane paint materials (TU 2359-047-12288779-2005) in agreement with representatives of VMP Holding.
Minimum overcoating interval (at a temperature of (20±2) °C and relative air humidity (65±5)%) of the primer before application of the FERROTAN composition:
ZINOTAN coating – not less than 4 hours;
ZFES coating – not less than 6 hours;
FERROTAN-pro coating – not less than 5 hours.
When applying multi-layer coatings, each subsequent layer should be applied no earlier than after the previous layer has dried up "to tack free" (slight touch on the coating does not leave a trace and does not give a feeling of stickiness).
The overcoating interval for the FERROTAN coating before enamels application is not less than 24 hours (at the temperature of plus (20±2)°C and relative air humidity (65±5)%).
Prolonged contact of the composition in an open container with air should be avoided.
Drying of coating is natural.
When the humidity of the air increases, the drying time is reduced. Time of complete curing of the coating before the start of operation is 7 days, before the start of packaging and shipment – 24 hours.

STORAGE OF ANTICORROSIVE COMPOSITION
Composition is supplied in 10 and 1 litre metal containers.
Storage and transportation of the composition – in accordance with GOST 9980.5-2009 (at ambient temperature from minus 40 ° C to plus 40 ° C). In storage the package shall be protected from lasting direct sunlight and atmospheric condensation. It is allowed to store the package under direct sunlight, however not more than 3 hours.
The shelf life of the composition in a hermetically sealed container is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
SECURITY MEASURES
When working with the composition, the relevant industry standards and requirements should be observed, as well as the precautions indicated on the packaging label.
It is necessary to use personal protective equipment (glasses, masks, respirators), avoid inhaling solvents during evaporation and getting the composition on the skin, mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory tract; use indoors only with sufficient ventilation.
The composition refers to fire-hazardous materials.
COMPATIBILITY OF FERROTAN COMPOSITION WITH OTHER VMP MATERIALS
It is recommended for use in coating systems with zinc-filled primers ZINOTAN, ZVES and FERROTAN-pro penetrating primer. Finishing coats – ALUMOTAN, POLYTON-UR, POLYTON-UR (UV), as well as others polyurethane and vinyl enamels.
