Recommended use
Primer-enamel EVOPOL-12 is used to protect metal and concrete structures operated in an open industrial atmosphere in temperate and cold climate zones.
Specifications
Primer-enamel EVOPOL-12
It is applied directly to the metal without the need for prior priming (a "direct-to-metal" or DTM type of coating). Combines the protective properties of the primer and the high decorative qualities of the enamel, resistant to UV radiation.
Allows application at temperatures up to minus 25 ° C.
AREAS OF APPLICATION
EVOPOL-12 is used for metal structures as:
a single coating system;
a top coats with the epoxy and polyurethane-based primers when operating in an environment with high corrosiveness (areas with a marine climate, highly polluted industrial environments), as well as with the vinyl-epoxy, acrylic and other primers.
CERTIFICATION

CONSUMPTION PER M2
The theoretical consumption for a single-layer coating is 190-270 g/m2.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Steel:
degrease metal surface to the first degree according to GOST 9.402;
clean from scale, rust and old paint by abrasive blasting up to degree 2 according to GOST 9.402 (Sa 2 1/2 or Sa 2 according to ISO 8501-1); mechanized and manual cleaning is allowed up to degree 3 according to GOST 9.402 (St 3 according to ISO 8501-1);
remove dust.
Concrete:
remove dirt, oil and grease contamination;
remove the top layer (cement milk) by abrasive blasting (preferably) or mechanical abrasive cleaning (grinding machine, etc.);
remove dust with an industrial vacuum cleaner.
The age of concrete base after laying should be at least 28 days. The residual moisture in the surface layer of 20 mm should not exceed 4%. The base temperature should be at least 3 °C above the dew point. There should be no visible traces of moisture on the surface.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
before use, mix the primer-enamel to a homogeneous state;
if necessary, dilute to the working viscosity with a diluent such as SOLV-UR® or SOLVIN-11 (SOLV-EP and GOST 10214 petroleum solvent are also acceptable) at temperatures ranging from +10 to +35 °C. Toluene can also be used at temperatures ranging from -25 to +10 °C.
Primer-enamel is recommended for application at ambient temperatures from minus 25 to plus 35 ° C and relative humidity of no more than 85%.
Application methods:
Airless spraying
Recommended diluent SOLV-UR®, SOLVIN-11 to 10% (by mass)
Pressure 12 - 16 MPa (120 - 160 bar)
Nozzle diameter 0.015" - 0.019" (0.38 - 0.48 mm)
Air spraying
Recommended diluent SOLV-UR®, SOLVIN-11 to 10% (by mass)
Pressure 0.3 - 0.4 MPa (3 - 4 bar)
Nozzle diameter 1.6 - 2.0 mm
Brush / Roller
Recommended diluent SOLV-UR®, SOLVIN-11 from 5% to 10% (by mass.)
Amount of diluent up to 10% by mass
Equipment cleaning
SOLV-UR®, SOLV-EP, petroleum solvent
Drying of coating is natural. The drying time depends on the surface temperature and ambient air, the degree of dilution of the material, coating thickness, ventilation efficiency and relative humidity.
STORAGE OF ANTICORROSIVE PRIMER ENAMEL
The enamel primer is supplied in 20-liter metal container.
Storage conditions of the base and hardener in accordance to GOST 9980.5 at ambient temperature from minus 40 to plus 40 ° C. During storage, the container should not be exposed to precipitation and direct sunlight.
The guaranteed shelf life of the primer enamel is 24 months from the date of manufacture.
SECURITY MEASURES
When working with enamel primer, it is important to adhere to industry standards and requirements, as well as follow the safety precautions specified on the label of the packaging.
It is necessary to use personal protective equipment (glasses, masks, respirators), avoid inhaling solvents during evaporation and getting the composition on the skin, mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory tract; use indoors only with sufficient ventilation.
Enamel primer is classified as fire-hazardous materials.
